Fig, Champagne Grapes and Raspberry Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 orange zested
  • 3/4 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk (I didn’t have buttermilk so I substituted 1/4 cup milk + 1/4 cup plain yogurt)
  • 10 figs halved
  • 1 handful of champagne grapes
  • 1 pint raspberries
